Dear Friends of the Narrow Gauge!

On September 12, 1913 the first train of the Breitenau Railway began running on the tracks that are now 10.7km long; this 760mm narrow gauge railway has always been operated by electricity.  1966 saw the end of passenger transport to Breitenau.

The association, Freunde der Breitenauerbahn—Friends of the Breitenau Railway was founded at the end of 2007.

It is our goal to arrange for journeys offering passenger transport on this historic narrow gauge railway.  We are able to do this with the generous help of our many club members and supporters from near and far.
